Mount French | Lake Brunner, West Coast NZ // 10 Years of Marriage Mish!

A pre-Covid mission up Mt French, Lake Brunner with my wife Heather to celebrate 10 years of marriage. This was our first overnight adventure without the kids. Heather suffered a significant concussion shortly after this trip (not during lol) which has reshaped the fabric of our lives these past few months. I'm so proud of her tenacious recovery and strength of character ❤️

Mt French is a cracker of a trip - just 15mins from our home in Kumara. 7km return. Allow 4 - 5 hours up, 2 - 3 hours down. No huts or water - either do it as a day trip or take a tent and water.

This footage was shot using a cheap kit lense (didn't want to risk any of my pro gear lol) but I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I can't recommend the tent enough. It's a Weka 3 from Kiwi Camping - we can fit our whole family (2 young children) in this and it weighs in just under 3kg!
