This trip kicks off with a short but spectacular Black Cat ferry ride across Lyttelton harbour. If you’re staying overnight at the hut, use the discount code DOCHUT when booking the ferry for a discount. The Heritage Hut is an easy 15-20 minute walk from the wharf. Base yourself there for a weekend or longer. There's so much to see and do. To have the island essentially to yourself is just a dream and a tremendous adventure for kids.
